What we can look at together.

These are the things people most often come with, and the therapies I use. You don’t need a label to get in touch.

01

Low mood

When the days feel flat and even ordinary things feel heavy.

Low mood can follow a loss, a long stretch of strain, or arrive for no clear reason. We use CBT and mindfulness-based approaches to understand it, without forcing you to feel positive.

Often helpful for: Feeling tearful, numb or shut down.

02

Self-esteem

The inner critic that got louder after years of putting yourself last.

You may look capable on the outside and feel shaky inside. We look at the old rules you live by, and whether they still fit. We use CBT to test the critical thoughts, and ACT to hold them more lightly.

Often helpful for: Constant second-guessing, or feeling you have to earn rest.

03

Burnout

Exhaustion that rest doesn’t fix, especially if you’re always the reliable one.

Burnout is rarely just overwork. We look at what’s unsustainable, and how to stop coping at your own expense. We use ACT and CBT to ease the pressure and work out what matters to you.

Often helpful for: Professionals in business, education, finance and healthcare, or anyone holding more than their share.

04

Perimenopause & menopause

Poor sleep, anger, brain fog, a body that feels unfamiliar, and the questions that come with it.

Hormonal change can stir up old feelings and knock out ways of coping that used to work. Therapy isn’t a replacement for medical care. It’s a place to be taken seriously. We use MBCT for sleep, worry and low mood, and ACT for the changes you can’t control.

Often helpful for: Perimenopause and menopause.

05

Divorce & endings

The loss of a shared future, a home, a version of yourself.

Whether you chose it or not, endings often bring grief, anger and relief all at once. I encourage you to start finding your own way. We use ACT to make room for the grief, and CBT to untangle the thoughts that keep you stuck.

Often helpful for: Separation, divorce, or life afterwards.

06

Job loss & identity

Redundancy, retirement, or leaving work that had become who you are.

When work ends, the real question is often: who am I without it? We can work through both the practical and the personal. We use ACT to reconnect with your values, and CBT or FACT to make a start on what comes next.

Often helpful for: Redundancy, career change or retirement.

Therapies

How I work

  • CBT: looks at how thoughts, feelings and behaviour connect, and helps you challenge unhelpful patterns.
  • ACT: accept thoughts and feelings rather than fighting them, and commit to actions that fit your values. I like to say it is CBT, compassion-focused therapy and mindfulness with a hug.
  • FACT: a brief form of ACT, often one to three sessions, to spot what’s holding you back and start workable change quickly.
  • MBCT: mindfulness-based therapy, developed to help prevent depression returning by observing thoughts without judgment.
  • EMDR: a structured therapy for processing traumatic memories, using bilateral stimulation to reduce their emotional weight.
